E-commerce - It is no longer enough that a company has a website

The future of e-commerce is here, and it looks a lot like social commerce, especially to younger generations whose daily lives are influenced by “checking in” online. To be effective, retailers today must understand how to operate in this new, evolving realm. Retailers are going ‘social’ on their own with blogs, forums and branded social networks on their websites. According to a new study from US market research firm, Forrester Research, 64% of retailers have made investments in social networking and social media, while another 22% plan to do so within the next 12 months. Recently, Starbucks used their Facebook page to introduce consumers to its new ice cream.
